Matthew C. Smith Racing at Warwick Farm is looking for an experienced Senior Foreperson to join our team. We require an enthusiastic and well organised team leader to manage a busy Group-1 winning stable. Essential Skills:
- Proven experience within the racing industry as a foreman highly desired
- Proven management experience
- Excellent horsemanship skills and a firm understanding of racehorses in training
- Excellent communication & time management skills
- Highly reliable
- Extensive knowledge of horse care (medications, bandaging, checking legs etc)
Responsibilities include:
- Liaising directly with Matthew and overseeing the daily running and organisation of the stable
- Monitoring horses for soundness, injury or illness
- Ensuring the horse's well being
- Assisting with veterinary treatments
- Directing staff and updating rosters
- Running stalls at morning trackwork
- Operating the treadmill (training available)
