Elite Horse Staff - Multiple Positions

HORSE TRAINER

Godolphin Australia is currently seeking highly experienced and capable staff to join our stables and stud farms. Positions are available at Carbine Lodge, Flemington VIC, Northwood Park Seymour VIC, Crown Lodge, Warwick Farm NSW, Osborne Park, Agnes Banks NSW, Kelvinside, Aberdeen NSW, Woodlands, Denman NSW.

• Young Horse Trainer/Rider - able to ride 8 -10 horses per morning (with particular emphasis on riding pace/timed work and jump outs).
• Horse Trainer/Foreperson – train and educate horses, supervise training plans and manage horses and staff.

The salary will be above award – in the range of $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 per annum depending upon the location, position, and level of responsibility. All positions are full-time.

Essential Skills:

A Certificate III or equivalent international qualification, or in the absence of a qualification a minimum of three years professional experience educating and training horses.

In addition, the following maybe required depending on the role:

• A minimum of three years’ full-time experience handling and educating thoroughbreds
• Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred racing
• Proven knowledge & experience of horse handling & training methods specific to the thoroughbred breeding industry, including working with stallions and educating young stock
• Proven ability to train and educate young horses
• Oral and written communication skills of a level to take instruction and provide information
• Ability to work in a team and independently (or proven management experience if the position is for a foreperson role)
• Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment
• Proven as reliable workers, with excellent horsemanship skills

Desirable Qualification:

• A Certificate III or equivalent international qualification
