Scope of Role: Full-time position with Danny O’Brien Racing - Monday to Saturday mornings and occasional afternoon shifts.
Specific Tasks
- Understanding and Implementing stable treadmill workouts and procedures
- Collect and communicate data surrounding each treadmill workout
- Leading horses to & from treadmill, and general walking
- Oversee treadmill maintenance
- Educate and train other staff about treadmill policies and procedures
- General stable hand duties as required
- Adhere to all policies & procedures outlined in OH&S manual
- Notify trainers/foreperson/office of any incidents, injuries or hazards for both horses and employees. Any other reasonable tasks as directed by Trainer, General Manager & Assistant Trainer
Requirements
- Horse handling and racing stable experience is essential.
- Reliable, punctual, enthusiastic and self-motivated person that works well within a youthful team environment.
- Excellent communication skills
